SentrySafe G1459E 14-Gun Electronic Lock Safe | Gun Safe Reviews

Before I start my actual review I want to say thanks to this website because before I bought a best gun safes for my gun I decided to do a lot of research first. And I picked up a few things from reading the reviews on here. Like the ease of having an electric lock as opposed to fumbling with keys in the dark under stress and all.

Ok why did I want a safe? Well I hunt a lot and I want to keep my kids safe from my firearms. They are very disciplined when it comes to guns but I am not taking any chance. Anyway, I have two long guns and 2 handguns and I wanted something sturdy and spacious. So after doing a TON of research I decided to go with a Sentrysafe, because they came recommended over and over again. Now as for the exact model I thought to myself, what if I want to add to my gun collection, which I am sure to do at some point. So I decided to go with a larger model than my actual needs at THIS moment. That being said, this safe is very spacious and it safes my guns from getting scratched up and all. Also, the top shelf keeps some ammunition and a little box with valuables.

As for my budget, I didn’t want to be a cheapskate on something this important. So I set my budget at $600 including shipping costs. The best part in this is that I wanted to get this safe at something like $600 but then 2 days later the price dropped to $480 something. So I called Amazon customer service and I asked for a return on the price difference, turns out that my payment didn’t go through yet so they invoiced me again with the lower price and so I payed $480. INCLUDING SHIPPING!

I also glued in an extra shelf for a jewelry box and other small valuables. The safe is large enough (or my guns short enough) to leave some extra room. You could also just lower the top shelf by gluing in some wood on the sides.

The delivery process was great, the company called me to go arrange a schedule and date for them to deliver the safe. They came early in the morning so I just needed to take the morning off from work and get back in the evening to install the safe. Great service! Nice guys as well.

Oh yeah, the door opens well and without any ‘squeaks’ or anything like that. Now I would recommend bolting it to the floor. Although it is unlikely for someone to pick it up and walk away with it (unless superman) it is better to be ‘safe’ (no pun intended) that sorry.

All in all I am glad I read some gun safe reviews on this site and Amazon before I decided to make my decision. I am extremely happy with the safe and I feel like money well spent! highly recommended gun safe!

Regards, Richard (Thanks again!)

Gun Safe Reviews by Chris | Centurion 12 Gun Safe By Liberty Safe

I will start off by saying that this is one good looking biometric gun safes. I initially placed it inside a closet but I decided to take it out and place it dead bang inside my bedroom. It is that good looking. Ok so now my actual gun safe review.

As always I decided to do some research first and look at Amazon to see what safes in by budget ($600) are available. I ended up reading a ton of reviews and finally decided to order this safe. It is lined with carpet and very heavy made. I feel like a criminal can’t just put a crowbar between the door and pry it open. No chance at all.

Besides the nice finish it is pretty spacious too. The manufacturer say that it can hold 12 long guns but with scopes on them you’ll probably only fit 9 in there. But I don’t even own 9 scoped long guns so no problem for me. The shelves are fully adjustable and can hold up quite some items. In the top shelve I have my 2 handguns with their respective magazines. On the other shelves I have some boxes of ammunition for the long guns and my shotgun.

I decided to bolt this gun safe to the floor and had to buy four 1/2 inch x 6inch sleeve anchors to securely fit it to the floor. This will never ever come undone and it gives me great confidence that no one is going to be able to just rock the safe loose.

Oh yea, I don’t know if it is with every safe but because they glue the carpet inside the safe it may smell like glue when you first open it. So be sure to leave it open to air out for a couple of days. The combination dial is very smooth and I am confident that it will last a long time. I am not sure if it needs and lubrication or if that is absolutely the wrong thing to do but I will read the manual on that.

All in all this is a great safe to store up to 8 or 9 long guns with optics and their ammunition, maybe a few handguns even. As far as security goes, I am pretty sure that this is a very good safe for its money. But if you want a almost impossible to crack safe be sure to take out your wallet and slap a few grand down. This safe is also limited fireproof but that is not why I bought it so no problem for me. I suggest that you take a look at some other gun safe reviews as well!

I would recommend this guns safe to anyone looking for a decent and good looking safe with lots of storage room!

Gun Safe Reviews by Jake | LockSAF biometric fingerprint safe

Ok I decided to redo my previous one star review of this safe. I think I jumped to conclusions as the manufacturer helped me out enormously. I had a malfunctioning safe and before I called the manufacturer I had already left a bad review. My problem with the unit was that it would not open until after 5 swipes of my finger and I just (wrongfully) assumed that it was a bad product. When I got to my senses I realized that with any product, there may be a rotten apple in the bunch. Btw, I’ve gotten this from Amazon so the shipping was free but I had to do business with the manufacturer myself.

Anyway, the manufacturer immediately replaced my safe after listing to my complaints and I must say that the new unit is worth all five stars! It responds fast and almost always on the first try (keep the glass clean!).

Ok so for the actual review: I have this unit installed on the middle shelf of my bedroom closet. It sits at waste level and allows me to quickly scan my fingerprint in case I need to get to the gun fast. The response time is great, not instantly but with a second delay. Basically the biggest reason for getting this safe is to be able to get to the gun even when my heart is beating like crazy and adrenaline rushing. No need to find keys, no need to remember combinations. Also, it keeps my kids clear from my handguns and allows my wife to access them in addition to myself.

The programming is very easy, it takes a minute per finger. In the case of failure to open the safe you can use keys as a backup. Needless to say, you need to keep those keys well separated from the safe (not in it). The power consumption is pretty low, I have used this particular unit for over 6 months now and I measured the voltage level of the 9V battery, it is still a comfortable 9,3V.

Anyway, all in all I feel that my last review was totally missing the boat and I hope I redeemed myself with this update. I highly recommend this unit for all that are looking for a quick, safe and heavy unit to store their guns in. I recommend you go and read some more gun safe reviews to make sure you’ll get the one you want.
